It's been a busy few weeks. A lot of personal project photo shoots going on so I haven't blogged in a while but I wanted to take time to write about Warped Tour which came through Las Vegas August 9th. I was excited to get press access for this major event despite the fact that it was going to be really hot.
If you haven't been to Warped it is a challenge because bands are playing at the same time and they only play 30 min sets. There is roughly 70 bands so you try to shoot as many as you can and you run from stage to stage, but it is an experience.
At the Hard Rock this was indoors and outdoors so it was more of a challenge navigating the crowds. Thankfully as a photographer we could get past the lines, except the one time security insisted on using the metal detector on me. Pretty funny since I was carrying tons of camera gear.
The biggest challenge I faced was just realizing I was not going to get to shoot everyone I wanted. I missed Mayday Parade, Every Time I Die and Whitechapel. But I got to shoot some that I really wanted to and ones I have wanted to shoot for a while including Motionless in White, Less Than Jake, and Yellowcard.
The surprise of the day for me was Cane Hill. Wow they were amazing. I was disappointed I had to leave early to go catch another act.
Busy pits, long days carrying all your gear in excessive heat but it was worth it. Below are some shots from that day.
